History

History

With 300 acres of premium grapevines on the Taranga property, the Oliver family has over 50 blocks representing different grape varieties, clones, soil types & vine ages. Each vintage, different varieties & blocks will show their strength and from this the ‘SMALL BATCH’ range was born. These wines have been handcrafted to speak of both the variety and the vintage in which they have been produced.

Wine & Vintage

Wine & Vintage

Tempranillo is fast becoming a preferred variety in McLaren Vale, with its delish savoury notes and rustic charm. After a wet & cool spring, vintage 2024 was a warm and dry one - perfect for the sun loving Tempranillo variety.

The Year That Continued

The Year That Continued

For those lucky customers who have attended our monthly Porchetta Parties at our beautiful cellar door - you will know that while we don’t have a full time restaurant, our guest chefs always put on an incredible show. Inspired by the Spanish origins of the Tempranillo variety, a ‘Paella Party’ was conceived. What a hit. Three huge paellas of different styles were enjoyed by our hungry guests, first with their eyes and then with their stomachs! Can’t recommend the wine and food match enough - get some Paella & Tempranillo into your life ASAP.

Reviews

Deep ruby hue. Rich nose of dark chocolate, blood plum and anise with a hint of dusty earth. Powerful and weighty, blackberry and blood plum, cola and nutmeg spice all flow with a rich and velvet texture long across the palate. Tannins are there in the periphery, carrying the edges to ensure focus and length. 93 pts
