In the Icons of the Vale tasting we explore why the region of McLaren Vale was built on the back of grape varieties Shiraz and Grenache, from the very first settlers, including William Oliver in 1839. Initially prized for their ability to make fortified wine, McLaren Vale has since made these varieties its own, producing increasingly exciting and diverse versions of these “Icons of the Vale”.
