There’s just something about the moreish umami flavours of miso that pairs so beautifully with a great glass of wine like our new 2024 Grenache.
This delicious, and surprisingly simple Miso Sesame Chicken recipe has that in spades, with that great sweet/salty combination that keeps things very interesting.
Trust us, you’ll be mopping up every little extra bit of this sauce with your rice!

Recipe
Miso sesame chicken
- 4 x Maryland chicken thighs
- 2 tbsp miso paste
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 1 tbsp Mirin rice wine
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- Sesame seeds
- Spring onion bunch
- Fresh ginger
- White rice
- Chicken stock
Method
- In a bowl, mix together the rice wine, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey and miso paste
- Add the four chicken thighs and coat well
- Cover and marinade in the fridge for a few hours
- Heat a heavy based pan and drizzle with a neutral oil of your choice
- Brown chicken in the hot pan before placing in the oven for 35mins
- While the chicken is cooking, char the spring onions and ginger in another pan
- Remove spring onions and ginger, chop into smaller pieces then add back to the pan with the rice and stock
- Once the rice and vegetables are ready, remove chicken from the oven and plate, topping with the rich sauce and some sesame seeds and fresh spring onions as garnish
- Serve with our juicy new 2024 Grenache to bring it all together!
