Pack a Picnic

How long has it been since you’ve been on a really great picnic?

It takes some work, but you can really bring the luxury, without the price tag, on a picnic.

A great cheese or grazing platter is always a hit, but why not take it up a notch with some portable recipes with a few luxury touches, including a great bottle of wine, and take the whole experience up a level.

To attest to this, we’ve got some great tips from our team on a few of their favourites:

“A great frittata is always on our picnic menu, served with some homemade zucchini pickle and some crusty warm bread, as well as some lightly dressed salad leaves, great alongside a glass of Fiano.” Lee

“I am currently obsessed with making a homemade fig, caramelised onion and feta focaccia, the sweetness and saltiness combined goes with anything! Or just give me some simple San Daniele prosciutto with juicy rockmelon pieces and a Falanghina, or watermelon and grilled haloumi with the Chica!” Corrina

I love a really simple goat’s cheese and tapenade tartlet, they look fancy, but are so easy to make, just take some quality tart shells from the supermarket, grab some delicious goat’s curd, and top with a spoon of olive tapenade. alongside a chilled glass of the Chica Rosé, you can’t go wrong.” Camilla

“If you want to impress on a picnic, who can go past a stuffed cob loaf – with layered mortadella, provolone, grilled capsicum, lettuce, cucumber ribbons, aioli, baby spinach & sun dried tomatoes. Cut the top off cob, layer these inside til too full, then press down and tie ‘cob lid’ on with string. Refrigerate overnight and then cut wedges. Serve with chilled Grenache or use chicken/turkey as a filling too and serve with Mencia.” Therese

“What’s a picnic without some homemade sausage rolls? Really make a statement with a gourmet lamb and rosemary version. Or make up a homemade terrine with pork and sage, and some cornichons for crunch. So much flavour, these would be perfect with the juiciness of the Brioni’s Blend.” Mark

“I love making a simple Caprese Salad for picnics. The combination of juicy tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil leaves, drizzled with some of our 1839 Extra Virgin Olive Oil is so delicious, and easy to put together.” Andrea

Don’t forget something sweet to finish too.

One of Corrina’s favourites from her Gran Marjorie is her Lemon Delicious Tart, a simple recipe that packs a punch of flavour, and will impress everyone!
